This Position reports to:

Global IS Observability Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage central monitoring and alerting platform which integrates all Core IS services in an architecturally complex environment requiring deep understanding of hosting, network and application services, common integration practices as well as best practices in terms of IT operations.

The work model for the role is: #LI_hybrid/remote

This role is contributing to the Core IS globally. Main stakeholders are IS Process Owners, IS Service Owners, IS Service Managers, IS Observability Framework Lead, IS Observability Monitoring Specialists, MSP PoC.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Management of development, support and configuration of the central AIOps platform (APEX)
  • Configuration and management of integrations of monitoring sources (e.g. Dynatrace, Checkmk, Cloud native) with the platform
  • Configuration and management of outbound integrations of AIOps (ServiceNow, Snowflake, blue prism)
  • L3 support in case of technical issues
  • Continuous improvement and expansion of core capabilities of the platform

You will join a high-performing team of engineers and observability specialists, where you will be able to deliver global Observability platform for ABB.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Excellent complex technical solving skills, the ability to think out of the box, and curious by nature. Scripting knowledge is important
  • An extremely good technical understanding of working within a connected and distributed environment model of multiple applications
  • Evidence of improving proactive event management or other processes across a medium to large organizations
  • The ability to work with 3rd party and internal service providers who manage the application, system software and production infrastructure
  • Excellent documentation skills with experience of creating support documentation for users and the Operations Team
  • Deep understanding of container orchestration services
  • Deep understanding of Agile methodology and DevOps concepts
  • Experience working with Windows and Linux operation system environments
  • A fundamental understanding of infrastructure and applications
  • Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions – PowerShell, Python, or similar
  • ITIL 4 foundation certification is preferred
