Over the past year we have built a very talented team of engineers and developed a scalable applications using Elixir, React JS, LiveView, and Kubernetes. We use such technologies as Postgres, Oban, Factory, Minizinc, Snowflake, etc in our development.

Basic monitoring / alerts are in place. We are looking for a seasoned, experienced technologist in QA automation space to help us develop automated tests to ensure high quality of our products.

This role offers many exciting challenges and opportunities:

  • Be part of QA team that conducts manual and automated tests to release features on a regular basis
  • Conduct manual tests to gain domain knowledge and identify candidates for automation tests in collaboration with the product & engineering teams
  • Work on developing end-to-end QA automated scripts
  • This role will work primarily in JavaScript / Typescript and Cypress
  • This role requires exceptional programming skills, ability to collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders, product managers, engineering leads, designers, and other test engineers.

We are looking for experienced Software QA engineers with a passion for technology, researching new solutions and ways of working, who enjoy mentoring other engineers and sharing insights with their peers.

Responsibilities

Your day to day with us:

  • Work together with engineering and product teams to understand business requirements and prioritization of various features
  • Conduct manual testing of web applications and of backend service layers and identify automation candidates
  • Build and manage QA automation scripts, and continuously augment QA framework as features are added
  • Monitor and support daily/weekly/on-commit automation test runs, review reports, address failures and update test scripts
  • Participate in team meetings for planning and scheduling, obtaining technical information, reviewing testing workflow, and reporting test updates
  • Identify weekly automation objectives and update progress at the end of the week
  • Meticulously document QA related processes, updates, and reports
  • Collaborate with and guide QA automation engineers
  • Research, present and champion tools, ceremonies and practices that strengthen the QA org and PepsiCo eCommerce
  • Work constructively with KBS, and geographically diverse engineering teams to promptly support development and QA.
  • Drive innovation and support dissemination of good QA practices/methodologies across teams

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed:

  • 3+ years' experience testing software web applications and developing automated QA tests
  • Experience testing web services (GraphQL and REST)
  • Experience with QA automation frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium
  • Working experience with postgreSQL (writing database queries, SQL joins, ad-hoc SQL statements)
  • Experience working in an Agile/lean, continuous-deployment environment
  • Familiar with Agile development processes and tools such as Jira, Confluence, XRAY, Gherkin language, mochawesome report generation, GitHub
  • Self starter; act as owner; juggle priorities; multi-task effectively
  • Fast learner and ability to quickly take ownership of tasks and spearhead automation projects
  • Team player; excellent listening skills; develop rapport with product owners and developers
