About the role
Morgan is strengthening its global indirect procurement capability and is seeking an experienced Global Category Manager – Indirect Materials & Services to shape and deliver category strategies at scale.
This role will lead global and multi‑regional sourcing initiatives, partner closely with senior stakeholders, and drive sustainable value through strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management (SRM), and demand interventions. You will play a key role in improving total cost of ownership (TCO), managing risk, and embedding best‑practice category management across the group.
Reporting to: Head of Indirect Procurement (interim reporting to Procurement Project Lead)Team: 0–3 direct reports; leadership influence across 10–50 indirect stakeholders
Spend responsibility: £40–£80m (indirect)

Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities- Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of global category strategies aligned to business needs and financial objectives
- Define and implement SRM strategies for strategic and critical suppliers, driving performance, innovation, and resilience
- Deliver global and multi‑regional sourcing projects, ensuring contracts, specifications, and demand levers are fully implemented and adhered to
- Proactively identify and manage supply, commercial, and project risks
- Establish and lead cross‑functional category and sourcing teams, maximising return on investment from sourcing activity
- Embed and promote procurement best practice across regions and business units
- Maintain accurate and compliant category and supplier records
- Contribute to wider procurement and business initiatives, including capability development and post‑acquisition integration
- Where appropriate, lead and develop direct reports
Qualifications:
What we’re looking for- 8–10+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and SRM within complex, global environments
- Proven track record of delivering savings and value across large indirect spend categories
- Strong experience in global and multi‑regional negotiations
- Advanced stakeholder engagement and change management capability
- Comfortable operating in matrix organisations with multiple senior stakeholders
- Analytical, commercially astute, and able to think laterally
- Experience leading large‑scale sourcing or transformation projects
- Working knowledge of procurement systems and tools (spend analytics, eSourcing, contract management), with exposure to AI in procurement an advantage
