This Position reports to:
R&D Team Manager
We are looking for an intern to support the development and testing of PAL (Propulsion Automation Library) and PEMS (Power and Energy Management System) automation libraries used in marine vessel systems. These libraries run on ABB’s 800xA automation platform and are at the core of vessel propulsion and energy management.
About the Internship:
- Start date: as soon as possible (July 2026)
- Work in a modern office in Kraków
- Hybrid work model
- We expect availability of at least 20 hours per week
Your Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of new features in automation and control software
- Assist with internal testing activities
- Contribute to team meetings
- Write and maintain technical documentation
Requirements:
- 3rd-year student or higher in Automation, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Good understanding of PLCs and industrial control system concepts
- Good written and spoken communication skills in Polish and English
- Knowledge of Structured Text (IEC 61131) programming language for control systems and Python (or other traditional programming languages such as C#, C++, JavaScript, etc.) is a strong plus
